The other day I was given the best compliment by a teacher in this long education career of mine. It was the last day of classes and I had to go in to pick up my portfolio. My prof took me aside and told me “Tamal, I will have to retain you in this class for one more semester.” I was confused, there was no way I failed! Getting over the initial pangs of shock, I ask him “How come?” and he replies “You could come back to teach the entire class.” He kept my assignments and portfolio to be used as examples in the future (yes, they were perfect). Shocks turned into relief and as appreciative as I was, I was also proud of the fact that I achieved a 100% in a course for the second time in 6 months.
